About Us

Who We Are

Amma Jonoseba Parishadio Welfare Society is a non-profit organization established in 2020 with the mission to create a positive impact on society.

We are dedicated to education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, poverty alleviation, women and child welfare, Employment for the unemployed etc.

Our mission and vision

Our mission and vision are to uplift marginalized rural communities, protect nature, provide proper medical care to those who cannot afford treatment, ensure that no child is deprived of education, and create employment opportunities for the unemployed.

Why is the title "Amma" given ?

We all are the offspring of mothers . Whenever we are helpless we find repose in the lap of mothers .In our vast country i.e. in India two personalities have been given the title of mother . One of them is Mother Teresa , original name Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu who came to defend poverty and helplessness as a mother and another is celestial chief minister Jayram Jayalalithaa , an actress and politician who came to be known as mother for the accomplishment and materialisation of social welfare projects in India.

Following the path of these two angels we have kept the name of our voluntary organisation i.e. of our embassy "Amma Janaseba Parisadiya Welfare Society ".

What We Do

We work through various projects and initiatives to bring meaningful change, including :

1. Alokito Pirchak

Our journey of change began in Pirchak, a village under the Medinipur Sadar Assembly constituency. Once deprived of basic necessities like clean water, electricity, and proper roads, the village faced numerous challenges.

In 2020, we visited Pirchak for the first time and, with the support of the then-administration, took the initiative to provide the village with access to water, electricity, and well-constructed roads. This marked the beginning of our commitment to uplifting rural communities.

2. Ankur Pathsala

Our second major initiative is Ankur Pathsala, a program designed to bring school dropouts back into the mainstream education system.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, many children in remote villages of Bengal dropped out of school. Since most of their parents were daily wage laborers, they would leave for work in the morning, and their children would stop attending school. Observing this alarming situation, we took the initiative to establish Ankur Pathsala in these villages.

Each Pathsala functions as a free learning center where a dedicated teacher is appointed to educate all the children in the village. To encourage attendance, we provide students with essential learning materials such as books, notebooks, and pens, along with school uniforms and occasional meals.

Today, we proudly run nine Ankur Pathsala centers, ensuring that no child is deprived of the opportunity to learn and grow.

3. Mass Marriage

Our next major project was the Mass Marriage Initiative. During our visits to various villages, we often heard distressing stories of underage marriages and cases where men from other states lured young girls with false promises, only to take them away, never to be heard from again. In many instances, helpless parents, struggling with financial hardships, felt compelled to accept such deceitful offers.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, we took the initiative to support underprivileged families by organizing mass marriage ceremonies for their daughters once they reached legal adulthood. We assured these families that when the time was right, we would bear all wedding expenses, ensuring a dignified and respectful marriage for their daughters.

Since 2023, we have been conducting annual Mass Marriage Ceremonies, where we take on the role of the bride's guardian. We provide all necessary wedding gifts, arrange a grand community feast, and conduct the marriages with proper rituals. Through this initiative, we have been able to bring joy and relief to struggling parents and ensure a safe and secure future for their daughters.

4. Palash Gram - A Model Village Initiative

Our next significant initiative was Palash Gram, aimed at transforming Vaduliya, a remote village under the Medinipur Sadar Assembly constituency, into a model village through various developmental programs. This village is home to approximately 130 tribal families, including Adivasi, Lodha, and Sabar communities.

As part of this initiative, we planted 2,000 Palash trees, adding to the village’s natural beauty and ecological balance. We also renovated and painted several mud houses, giving the village a vibrant and refreshed look. On December 31, 2024, we officially inaugurated Palash Gram with a grand cultural celebration, marking a new chapter in the village's journey towards progress.

Looking ahead, we have ambitious plans for Palash Gram :

Establishing a community hall to serve as a center for social and cultural activities.

Creating employment opportunities for the villagers to ensure sustainable livelihoods.

Developing Palash Gram into a tourist destination, showcasing its natural beauty, cultural heritage, and tribal traditions.

Through this initiative, we aim to uplift the tribal communities, enhance their living standards, and create a model village that stands as an inspiration for rural development.

In addition to our major initiatives, we actively organize various humanitarian programs throughout the year to support underprivileged communities.

We conduct free health camps in remote villages, providing medical check-ups, essential medicines, and consultations from qualified doctors to those who lack access to proper healthcare. Understanding the importance of emergency medical support, we also organize blood donation camps, encouraging volunteers to donate blood and help save lives.

To address food insecurity, we distribute essential food supplies to marginalized families, ensuring that no one in these communities goes hungry. Additionally, during winter and festive seasons, we arrange clothing distribution drives, providing warm clothes and essential garments to those in need.

Through these continuous efforts, we strive to bring relief, hope, and a better quality of life to the most vulnerable sections of society, reinforcing our commitment to compassion, care, and community development.
